Our Story & Values
OYP was founded to support Orthodox young professionals in their late 20s–40s seeking fellowship, community, and faith formation. With the blessing of Metropolitan Silouan, the inaugural OYP CON 2024 confirmed the need for this work. We continue to build a space where faith and work thrive.
OUR PATRON SAINT
The patron of OYP is the Theotokos, Ripener of the Harvest – also called She Who Ripens the Grain or Multiplier of Wheat. This title gained recognition after St Ambrose of Optina blessed the icon, noting her aid to those labouring for their daily bread. The icon follows the Panagia Oranta model: the Theotokos stands in prayer, her hands uplifted in intercession for the world. Our OYP logo is a simplified form of this icon – a visual reminder that all our work is offered in prayer. Whether trade, service, creative work, ministry, or unpaid labour, we ask the Mother of God to bless and multiply the harvest of our lives.

That both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.
John 4:36
